WATCH Dolly Parton And Katy Perry Perform Together
Country legend Dolly teamed up with Katy to sing a whole medley of her biggest hits, including ‘Jolene’ and of course '9 To 5’, and the 'California Girls’ hitmaker could not have been more chuffed by the honour.
31-year-old Katy and 70-year-old Dolly joked together throughout their performance, bringing themselves forward as perhaps the best double act in comedy as well as in music with Dolly even threatening to “kick Katy’s butt” during the feisty 'Jolene’ duet.
After the performance Katy took to her Instagram account to share a snapshot from the night, captioning the photo with: “lil bit country, lil bit pop!
#outdreamingmydreamsonebyone #ILYSMDolly [sic]”.
Prior to the show Katy had also shared a video of her cowboy boots being “blinged up” ready for her big duet.
Dolly was at the star-studded Country Music Awards to pick up the Tex Ritter Award for her biographical film 'Dolly Parton’s Coat Of Many Colours’, aptly donning a multi-coloured coat to the ceremony, quipping that she had to compensate for the “leggy” women who she’d worked with whilst making the film.
